Cuban ambassador and Sri Lankan business group meet for talks

Colombo, Apr 2 (Prensa Latina) The top management of the Maliban Business Group and the Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés González, exchanged on the possibility of developing commercial relations with Cuban institutions.

After being received by its director general A. G. Kumudika Fernando and other members of the board, Gonzalez toured one of Maliban’s factories, the Cuban Embassy in Colombo informed.

At the meeting, the Cuban diplomat invited the business group to send a representation to the 40th edition of the Havana International Fair (Fihav2024) to be held from November 4 to 9.

González explained that Fihav is considered Cuba’s largest trade event, which allows exploring the possibilities of foreign investment in the country and strengthening relations with other regions of the world.

Created more than 60 years ago, Sri Lanka’s Maliban Group of Companies is the pioneer manufacturer of confectionery in the country and maintains a global reach to more than 35 countries, the island’s diplomatic legation underscored.

It has also won Sri Lanka’s prestigious National Quality Award on multiple occasions, the source noted.
