Cuba to Unveil Gabo’s Sculpture

Havana, July 11 – Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez will be soon among the selected group of sculputes who will be in the only wax museum located in the eastern Cuban village of Bayamo.The sculpture of the Literature Nobel prize winner, who died this year, was shaped by the Barrios family.

They live in the mountainous town of Guisa, and became famous for their wax figures.

Gabo’s figure will be unveiled on August 13 at the museum at the Paseo Garcia, a picturesque boulevard of the city, where Cuba’s national anthem was sung for the first time. (Prensa Latina)
