Cuba to participate in 37th FAO Regional Conference

Havana, Mar 26 (Prensa Latina) Cuba will participate in the 37th Regional Conference of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), to be held in Quito, Ecuador, FAO sources informed.

The event, scheduled from March 28 to April 2, will be attended by a Cuban delegation headed by Minister of Agriculture Ydael Perez and will focus on the transformation of agrifood systems. According to the FAO representation in Cuba, the meeting will be attended by the heads of the sector from all 33 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean who will address issues such as progress towards more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable systems. Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso and FAO Director General Qu Dongyu will preside over the meeting, which aims to seek alternatives for better production to favor nutrition, the environment and a better life, leaving no one behind.

International experts, members of the private sector, civil society, the UN system and academia will join these exchanges of ideas.
