Bogota, July 20 (Prensa Latina) Meetings with businessmen and signatures of agreements have highlighted Cuba”s participation in the Agroexpo 2019 fair, closing its doors in Bogota on Sunday.
The Agrarian University of Havana (UNAH) and the University of Cundinamarca, Colombia, strengthened ties earlier this week with the signing of an agreement that includes various areas to work on the topic of research, Miguel Perez, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of UNAH, told Prensa Latina.
In addition, the Cuban Institute of Animal Science and the University of Cundinamarca signed a framework cooperation agreement to foster scientific, cultural and technological exchange.
The result of the fair has exceeded our expectations. All company representatives had previously generated meetings with businessmen and Colombian officials, and that has made the work much easier, Tania Rodriguez, director of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba in the provinces of Camaguey and Ciego de Avila, told Prensa Latina Saturday.
Everybody has come, they have attended one way or another. We have had people with whom we had not contacted, but knowing that we were here at the fair, have come to contact and learn about our products, she said.
Rodriguez also highlighted the solidarity for the situation of the blockade (imposed by the United States on the island for more than half a century), ‘telling us that we can succeed, that we have good things. They have highlighted the level of our health, both human and animal. Agricultural Business Group; Labiofam, exporter of natural products for human and animal health; the National Center for Agricultural Health; Citricos Caribe S.A.; Coralac S.A., ice-cream marketer under the Nestle brand; and Caribex S.A., a company dedicated to the export of fish and food products, are among the 17 Cuban entities participating in Agroexpo 2019.
