Cuba reaffirms will to strengthen regional integration

Havana, Mar 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, reaffirmed the will to strengthen regional unity and solidarity in the context of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas-People’s Trade Treaty(ALBA-TCP, in Spanish).

Commenting on Twitter on a meeting held the day before with the president of this Latin American and Caribbean integration mechanism, Sacha Llorenti, the Cuban president said they talked about the progress, potential and ways to strengthen ALBA-TCP.

According to official information, in that contact Llorenti thanked Cuba for its contribution to the political forum and ratified the rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island.

As part of his official visit to Cuba, Llorenti held previous meetings with the island’s Vice Minister of Culture, Fernando León Jacomino, and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, as well as with students and academics linked to international politics.
