Havana, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reaffirmed on Friday its strongly solidarity with the Palestinians during the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba.
The Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) -a medical school where over 100 Palestinians are presently studying- was major scenario of the political-cultural act to recall that difficult moment when thousands of Palestinian families left their homes given the Zionist regime.
Representatives of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Government, Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Foreign Ministry (MINREX), mass organizations and the Palestinian embassy in Havana attended the event.
ICAP´s President Fernando Gonzalez said there are currently more than 6.4 million Palestinian refugees scattered around the world.
How much barbarity in the 21st century for the Palestinian reality, said Gonzalez who praised Palestinians´ courage, which is an example of international resistance, because despite the Israeli military superiority, they have never quit trying to take their territory back.
González also recalled that Cuba has historically championed the Palestinian cause and the inalienable rights of its people.
Likewise, Cuba has always expressed its unrestricted support for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the creation of two states.
