Havana, July 19 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Diaz-Canel has reaffirmed this Friday Cuba’s determination to defend its sovereignty against external pressures and threats, and its willingness to continue fostering the development model it has been pushing for six decades.
Diaz-Canel wrote in Twitter: ‘#Cuba does not surrender to pressure or threats. We will eternally defend our sovereignty and independence. #We do not understand #NoALaLeyHelmsBurton #We areCuba #We areContinuity’.
Cuban President added another message from Juan Antonio Fernandez, Cuba’s ambassador to Austria, Croatia and Slovenia, describing U.S. Senator Marcos Rubio’s desire for Cuba to respond to his tweets as insulting and outrageous.
A late-night American senator, with the surname Rubio, who lost his presidential candidacy in 2016, is saying that he expects Cuban authorities to respond to his quirky and insulting tweets. He thinks he’s a senator from ancient Rome. Mr. #We don’t understand each other,’ Fernandez said.
