Cuba Present at International Tourism Fair in Italy

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 14 (acn) Cuban recreational places and services were presented at one of the most important European tourism fairs, that of Italy.

A report by the Cuban Tourism Ministry (MINTUR) stresses the interest of authorities to attract more Italian travelers, hence that for three days (February 12-14) a large delegation was present at the 35th edition of the International Tourism Market, BIT 2015, in Milan.

Cuban presence in this meeting responded to the Internet of strengthening bonds between tourism activity on the island and Italian collaborators, and had, as its main objectives, the promotion of the 35th edition of Cuba’s International Tourism Fair, FITCuba, dedicated this year to Italy as Guest of Honor, which will be held on May 5-7, 2015 in Jardines del Rey, a tourist destination located north of central Ciego de Avila province.

Other objectives of Cuba’s participation in BIT 2015 was to show professionals and the public the variety of the island’s tourist product, particularly the potential of Havana, Cayo Largo, Varadero, cays of northern Villa Clara, Jardines del Rey, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba.

The Cuban delegation to Milan was headed by representatives of the Tourism Ministry and the tourism office of the Cuban Embassy to Italy, the Havanatur International Tour Operator Group and its representatives in Italy, Cubatur, Gran Caribe, Cubanacan, Gaviota, Gaviota tours, Caracol and Marlin.

The delegation was completed by representatives of Iberostar, Barcelo, Blue Diamond Hotels and Resorts and Roc Hotels.
