Cuba Is a Reference to Fight Climate Change

Abu Dhabi, July 4 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Jorge Leon, said that Cuba confirmed -in the recently held International Climate Change Conference- to be a reference to mitigate climate change.

During the international meeting, held from June 30 to July 1 and also chaired by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, among other personalities, the Cuban delegation spoke with delegates from other countries, he said.

The Cuban government is currently fostering a plan for fighting climate change, known as ‘Tarea Vida’ (Life Task), which includes the protection of forests, mangroves and marine ecosystems, along with the replacement of old technologies so as to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

One of the main objectives of the aforementioned Conference, with the attendance of a thousand delegates, was to highlight critical dangers posed by the global warming threat.
