Cuba-Health 2022 to address health challenges after pandemic

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 18 (ACN) The first day of sessions of the 4th Cuba-Health 2022 International Convention kicks off today with a keynote speech by Jose Angel Portal Miranda, minister of public health, on the challenges of this sector in the post-COVID-19 context.

There will also be a panel on health policies to respond to the 2030 Health Agenda, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, with the participation of Dr. Carissa Etienne, director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

Likewise, there will be other spaces for dialogue on the 120 years of PAHO in Cuba, science and its role in the future of public health, as well as the challenges of non-communicable diseases and population aging in the Caribbean island nation.

As part of the initial activities of the event, the 4th National Health System Exposition was opened before an audience of experts and delegates from 64 countries, an opportunity to share experiences gathered in recent years in the medical sector.

Cuba-Health 2022 will be held until October 21 under the slogan “Universal Health, as part of the 2030 Health Agenda, in a post-COVID-19 context”, and will be a space for dialogue on the sector at the global and regional levels.
