HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 10 (NNN-ACN) – Cuba have 301 athletes, qualified for the Pan American Games in July, sports authorities said.
Norge Marrero, director of the High Performance department of the National Sports Institute, said, apart from team events of hockey, handball, water polo, baseball, volleyball, softball and women’s basketball, Cuban athletes will also compete in rowing, shooting, swimming, canoeing, gymnastics and so on.
Cuba finished second on the medals tally behind the United States, in the last version of the Games four years ago.
The 2015 Games will be held July 10-26 in Toronto, Canada.– NNN-ACN
