Quito, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) The swearing in of the leadership of the Ecuador-Cuba Friendship and Solidarity Coordinating Committee, in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas province, increased today this South American country’s support for the Caribbean nation.
The ceremony was chaired by Committee President Jose Regato, and Cuban Ambassador to Quito Rafael Dausa.
‘It is important for us to reiterate our appreciation and solidarity with the Cuban Revolution,’ Regato said at the meeting, held at Ranchon ‘Mi Vieja Habana’, the headquarters of the Jose Marti Cultural Society.
The Cuban ambassador thanked all members of the Coordinating Committee, who are not only friends of Cuba, but also support its struggles, for their time and dedication.
In his speech, Dausa highlighted the presence of young people in the Committee’s board. They work hand in hand with experienced people who have offered their unrestricted solidarity for years.
‘This is a nice rapprochement between the two peoples. One more, we can work together many angles, from pure solidarity to cultural issues, among others,’ he underlined.
Dausa also took the opportunity to refer to the situation in Cuba today, which he described as an interesting and important process, in which Miguel Diaz-Canel was recently elected the president of the Councils of States and of Ministers.
‘Change in Cuba will always be for more revolution, for more socialism,’ he said.
