Cuba Concludes Scientific Convention on Engineering, Architecture

Havana, Nov 28 (Prensa Latina) Renewable energy sources and natural phenomena in Cuba are among the keynote speeches to conclude today the 17th Scientific Convention of Engineering and Architecture at the Havana”s Conference Center.More images in PhotosPL

Such speech, by scientist Miguel Castro, is part of the program of the International Conference for Electrical Industry facing Natural Disasters, one of the 15 scientific events conforming this international convention.

A group of 55 oral presentations by figures from 18 countries captured the attention of participants to this forum, in which more than 1,440 works by Cuban and foreign researchers were presented.

Another of the most relevant activities are referred to the 7th Congress on Engineering and Maintenance, where delegates will debate about the present and future of the industrial maintenance in Cuba.

Issues related to operational reliability maintenance, mathematical modeling in this field, analysis of diagnostic technologies and its link with the different spheres of the industrial activity and services, are included in this conclave, Master in Science Armando Diaz, organizing secretary of the event, told Prensa Latina.

Experts from Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Portugal, among other countries, are attending this meeting.

The 17th Scientific Convention of Engineering and Architecture was a favorable framework for the establishment of forms of cooperation among institutions, entities, organizations and universities, to raise higher education level and expand commitments of the scientific world with society, according to the organizing committee.

The meeting was marked within the 50th anniversary of the “Jose Antonio Echeverria” University City, founded by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
