Havana, May 25 ( Prensa Latina) Cubans are celebrating Africa Day this Saturday with joy, gratitude and respect, a continent that contributed to culture and the formation of national identity.
On this occasion, Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Rodriguez stressed that Cuba and Africa are joined by strong ties of history, struggles and shared desires.
No other people in the world contributed as much to forging the Cuban nation as the African one, because we inherited from it the spirit of resistance and the love for freedom’, Rodriguez said.
In a ceremony held on Friday on the 56th anniversary of the creation of the African Union (AU), once the Organization of African Unity, the official stressed that Africa permanently supports us on many sensitive issues in the international arena.
