On Twitter, the prime minister recalled its signing in 2000 by revolutionary leaders Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and Hugo Chavez (1954-2013), a milestone in the relations between both peoples and governments.

During these years, over 255,000 Cuban collaborators have provided their services in Venezuela, and 22,000 are currently working there in 12 social missions.

One of the greatest achievements of this agreement is the contribution of the Cuban Medical Brigade to strengthening the public health system and the provision of health assistance to the most vulnerable population, as well as the training of human resources from that South American nation.

Under the Miracle Mission initiative, for ophthalmologic care, more than 35 million consultations have been given and nearly 206,000 surgeries have been performed.
