Cuba blames the US for consequences of riots

Havana, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez held the United States Government responsible for the consequences of stirring up violence in the island.

While denouncing in a press conference the campaign promoted from American soil through social media to promote riots, he warned that such irresponsible conduct could have negative implications for the area, and even harm national interest on the US.

Rodriguez pointed out that this strategy includes calls for violent actions, aggression against authorities, assassination, and promotes the irregular migratory flow.

Social media operators based in the US are using fake accounts, trolls, bots, disinformation, a scheme financed with government funds, he pointed out, recalling the Trump administration had set up the Internet Task Group against Cuba.

In that sense, he denounced the SOSCuba campaign promoted on social networks by a US company based in Florida that recently received a certification authorizing it to receive state funds and granting it legal validity to operate in that southern state.

He also warned that the campaign calls for a humanitarian intervention in Cuba, which it means a US military intervention and this is against international and Cuba laws.

The Foreign Minister accused the Republican government of Florida of financing these processes.
