Havana, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez today thanked Russia for its collaboration in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic by sending medicines and medical supplies.

In his Twitter account, tBruno pointed out that these donations reaffirm the close ties of friendship and solidarity between both peoples and governments.

The fifth flight from that Eurasian nation arrived in Havana with 20 tons of medicines and medical supplies, which complete 80 tons of health material that arrived by that route since last December 31.

Since July 2021, Russia has sent to Havana cargoes aimed at addressing the health crisis, particularly food and medical supplies.

Upon receiving the most recent donation at the Jose Marti International Airport, Moscow’s ambassador to Havana, Andrey Guskov, expressed his wish that it would serve to support the national specialists fighting against the pandemic who, he said, are showing the world an example of high level of professionalism and solidarity.

He added that his country will continue to help Cuba and will not cease to stand by its side, and announced the forthcoming arrival of a cargo ship with over 19 thousand tons of wheat.
