HAVANA, Oct 28 (ACN) Cuba and Thailand reaffirmed today their willingness to continue working based on exchange and cperation, as announced at the friendly meeting on the agenda of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, held in Bangkok.
According to Cubaminrex, the Cuban ambassador to the Asian nation, Hector Conde Almeida, was received by Kanchana Patarachoke, Director General of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.
The exchange, also attended by Thai Foreign Ministry officials, reaffirmed the importance of joint efforts in defense of multilateralism, state sovereignty, as well as keeping close cooperation in various multilateral forums.
Both countries also agreed to continue working towards the achievement of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the strengthening of South-South cooperation, and support for the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the UN Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty.
Cuba and Thailand established diplomatic relations on May 15, 1958, on the basis of cordiality and mutual aid in different sectors of the economy and development.
