Buenos Aires, Aug 11 (Prensa Latina) I think we, the Colombians, will never have how to thank the Cuban government and that commitment to help and collaborate with peace, Colombia’s Foreign Minister, Maria Angela Holguin, said here.
On an official visit to Buenos Aires, the foreign minister offered yesterday an academic session in which she analyzed the historical agreement reached with the FARC-EP guerrillas, during almost five years of talks, held in Cuba, guarantor country along with Norway.
Cuba’s role has been fundamental from the beginning and it still persists today, Holguin told Prensa Latina.
About the negotiations with the other guerrilla force, the National Liberation Army (ELN), started in February in Ecuador, she answered that they are very slow and there is a lot of expectation.
We are in the negotiation and Cuba and the different countries that have supported us are also there. This is a little more complex group and the situation that the government is in its last year makes it a little more difficult, she said.
