Havana, Mar 16 (Prensa Latina) The US band Blondie will give its second concert in Cuba on Saturday, after a sensational show on Friday at the Mella Theater in Havana.
The show was one of the most extraordinary moments expected by the group’s fans for years.
Directed by the prestigious Cuban musician Carlos Alfonso, Sintesis was Blondie’s support group.
After an interval to prepare the stage, everything went dark and magic was made.
The group, led by the vocalist Deborah Harry and made up of Christopher Stein (guitar), Leigh Foxx (bass), Matt Katz-Bohen (keyboards and synthesizers) and Tommy Kessler (guitar), took the stage and was highly acclaimed.
We have wished to be here for a long time, so thanks for making it a reality, are you happy? Harry asked the audience, who stood up for one and a half hour enjoying classic songs and new compositions from Blondie’s latest studio record Pollinator.
Heart of My Glass, one of the group’s most popular singles, closed the iconic concert.
Blondie won the heart of Cuban music lovers and the 73-year-old singer fulfilled her promise, made a few hours before to local fans, when she assured that she would give them a warm greeting and the best show.
This is another chapter in the history of Cuban music and culture, as three years ago, the British band The Rolling Stones gave a spectacular concert in Havana.
