Azerbaijan expresses solidarity with Cuba

Baku, Mar 27 (Prensa Latina) The Azerbaijan-Cuba Friendship Association has issued a statement corroborating its support for the Cuban social project, Cuban Ambassador to Baku, Carlos Valdés, told Prensa Latina on Thursday.

According to the diplomat, the Azerbaijani friends pointed out in their press release that “the enemies of the Cuban Revolution have once again tried to use in a reckless and destabilizing way the complex economic scenario the sister Republic of Cuba is experiencing.”

The text says that on March 17, citizens in some Cuban regions expressed their dissatisfaction over power shortages and food distribution.

The note stated that enemies of the Cuban Revolution tried to use such circumstances to encourage actions against the country’s internal order and peace.

The document added that Cuban leaders were present in those places with the people to attend to their demands and explain the country’s efforts to improve the situation.

They also condemned spokespersons from the US Government and its diplomatic mission in Cuba who have manipulated the reality in a meddlesome way and “expressed concern” about alleged Human Rights violations.
