Artists from Cuba to Start Cultural Exchange in the U.S.

Cienfuegos, Cuba, Jun 11.- Sponsored by the US Cuba Artist Exchange program, a small group of artists from the city of Cienfuegos left heading to Minneapolis, United States, to participate in a day of cultural exchange.Composed by painters Camille Diaz de Villalvilla and Adrian Rumbaut, both with previous experience in the US, photographer Omar Valenti and singer Nelson Valdes, the Cuban delegation meets a visit from their American colleagues in April.

Mariessa Ryan, developer of the project from the state of Minnesota, told reporters at that time that: ‘The higher purpose of our organization is to improve relations between Americans and Cubans through artistic creation and its exhibition in the two countries ‘

During her recent stay in Cienfuegos, 250 kilometers southeast of Havana, Ryan was accompanied by filmmakers Dane Whitehead and Paul Irmiter, and hip hop artists Rafael and Chaka Mkali. (Prensa Latina).
