Las Tunas.- Magical airs can be felt in this eastern city with the proximity of November.
In the penultimate month of the year, between the 19th and the 23rd , the 19th edition of the Ánfora Magic Festival will be held and, as usual, magicians from around the country and other parts of the world will meet here, to contribute to the enrichment of the ancient art.
Since the 1990s Las Tunas has been hosting this event that was born thanks to the founding efforts and constant enthusiasm of the magician José Reynerio Valdivia, Piter, a man who even today, with an advanced age, remains the inspiration of Ánfora.
Maykel Machado Vázquez, president of the Council for the Performing Arts in the territory, said that on this occasion the magicians will compete in modalities such as manipulation, grand illusions, close up magic and others, whose contenders shall be mainly young people, currently working as creators in different Cuban companies.
Machado Vázquez added that they have put emphasis on the quality of the theoretical spaces included in the program, since Ánfora has among its priorities raising the quality of magic in the nation.
Galas and presentations in the communities will complete the offers of this festival that every year enjoys the full acceptance of adults and children of the so-called Balcony of Eastern Cuba, which rightly changes its nickname during the event to that of the Magic City of Cuba.
