A Cuban Trade Delegation of BioCubaFarma Arrives in Syria

Damascus, July 23 (Prensa Latina) A delegation from the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Business Group -BioCubaFarma- arrived in Damascus on Tuesday as part of a working visit at the invitation of the Syrian Ministries of Health and Economy and Foreign Trade.

The Cuban delegation headed by Normando Iznaga Escobar, Commercial and Business Director of BioCubaFrama, will hold conversations with high Syrian authorities of the sector with the purpose of strengthening the collaboration in matters of health and supply of medicines.

It will also address the signing of new contracts to supply medicines to the Syrian people, and ways to overcome the difficulties generated as a result of the blockade imposed on the two nations.

In a meeting held at the headquarters of the State Enterprise for Foreign Trade, both sides expressed the willingness to continue working to foster bilateral collaboration.

At the meeting, the Syrian side highlighted the effectiveness and safety of Cuban medicines applied in Syria.

The Cuban delegation’s program also includes visits to drug plants and Syrian hospitals and health institutions.
