A bridge between New York and Havana, in pictures

nueva-york-la-habana3-580x580With Cuba and the United States working to normalize relations between these two great countries, photographers Eliana Aponte in Havana, and Gary Hershorn in New York, tried to imagine the two cities together.

The Echosight site, which promoted the project, explains that the idea is that everyone who looks these pictures imagines a bridge from New York to Havana, a city that is truly one of the great wonders of the photography world.

“Basically the project was intended to link the two cities … the beauty of both places: the natural and historical beauty of one and the modern beauty of the other,” explains Eliana Aponte Colombian photographer resident in Cuba.
