Beijing, Nov 22 (Prensa Latina) President Xi Jinping reaffirmed on Friday the enduring nature of China’s friendship with Cuba on receiving the credentials of the new Cuban Ambassador here, Carlos Miguel Pereira.
The president reiterated his firm will to promote cooperation between both socialist countries, no matter how difficult the international situation, a diplomatic note confirmed.
Meanwhile, Pereira conveyed warm greetings from the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, Raul Castro, and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, after ratifying the high priority that Cuban authorities award ties with China.
He stressed the fraternal nature of bilateral ties and their expansion to all fields, which is seen as a reflection of political trust, strategic dialogue, support and mutual understanding on many issues on the international agenda.
The parties also referred to the celebration in 2020 of the six decades of the establishment of Beijing-Havana relations, which will mark a new milestone in the binational sphere since Cuba was the first nation in the Western Hemisphere to recognize the then young People’s Republic of China.
According to the note, the cordial exchange also highlighted the excellent state of relations and the commitment to consolidate them further on the basis of the consensus reached between Xi and Diaz-Canel, and the traditional friendship between the two nations.
