World Food Program Promotes Children Contest in Cuba

Havana, Feb 9 (Prensa Latina) The World Food Program of the United Nations (WFP) invited Cuban children and young people to take part in a fine arts contest on the trascendency of adequate nutrition for the development of childhood.

With the motto “Together, Feeding Your Smile” the 15th edition of the contest, exhorts Cuban children and young people to draw on the alliances allowing them to improve their feeding.

Different Cuban organizations are sharing the sponsoring of the event, and the reception of the works will be in course up to March 20, admitting works made by children or young people from 5 to 18 years of age.

Each contestant can send up to three works and in the case of the dimensional works they should not exceed the 30×50 centimeters (cm), while the three-dimensional ones will be able to reach to 30x30x40 cm, the WFP indicated.

According to the announcement, three prizes will be granted up by each category (of five to eight years of age, of nine to 11 and of 12 to 18) and all the mentions that the jury considers appropriate.

The instructors with more awarded children, will also receive rewards, as well as the House of Culture that receives more quantity of prizes in this edition.

The WFP accumulates more than 50 years of collaboration with the government from Cuba in the development of activities focused to improve the population’s alimentary and nutritional security.
