Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Arrives in Cuba

Havana, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh will arrive in Cuba today, where he will carry out an official visit.

According to the program, the Asian visitor is scheduled to meet tomorrow with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez and the president of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament), Esteban Lazo, among other activities.

The relations between Cuba and Vietnam are characterized by political trust, brotherhood and solidarity.

An increase in the economic-commercial, investment and cooperation links is observed, while both nations exchange experiences on the construction of socialism, based on the specific realities of each country.

Vietnam invariably supports the fight for the immediate and unconditional elimination of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than half a century on the largest of the Antilles.

Cuba attaches great importance to the mechanism of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of both nations, whose last session took place in Hanoi, September of 2017.

Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties.
