Vietnam, Cuba strengthen cooperation

Hanoi, May 8 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Cuba’s Bruno Rodriguez reiterated on Friday their countries’ firm intention to continue strengthening the historic relations of friendship and bilateral cooperation.

During a telephone dialogue that the two parties posted on Twitter, Minh, who is also Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, set out his country’s progress to fight the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and the willingness to support Cuba against the pandemic.

Rodriguez, who also thanked a recent donation of 5,000 tons of rice by the Vietnamese Communist Party, the State and people to help Cuba solve its food difficulties amid the pandemic, did the same.

‘As an expression of the brotherhood and solidarity between #Vietnam and #Cuba, I held a fraternal telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, @FMPhamBinhMinh. We agree to continue strengthening cooperation and mutual support during and after the #COVID19,’ Rodriguez posted on Twitter.

The two ministers also congratulated themselves on occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations and agreed to deservedly celebrate such a significant event even amid the difficult circumstances imposed by coronavirus.
