Vietnam and Cuba celebrate anniversary of diplomatic ties

Hanoi, Dec 2 (Prensa Latina) Leaders of the Communist Party, the State and the Government of Vietnam on Monday sent messages of congratulations to their Cuban counterparts on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a letter to the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee Raul Castro Ruz and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

Phu Trong and Xuan also sent ‘their warmest congratulations’ to Cuban leaders, the bodies they represent and all Cubans.

‘On such a joyous occasion, we reiterate our wishes and determination to continue deepening the bonds of fraternal solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between both Parties, States, Governments and peoples, in order to contribute more efficiently to the revolutionary cause in each country,’ they wrote.

Vietnam National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also extended greetings to their Cuban counterparts, Esteban Lazo and Bruno Rodriguez, respectively.
