Dec 1 (Telesur) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has expressed his gratitude for the multinational support of the ongoing dialogue process between the government and the opposition.
Following talks held Friday in the Dominican Republic, at which both sides discussed six key points for the future of Venezuela, Maduro said: “Dialogue has been installed, and in Venezuela we are going to consolidate peace and prosperity.
“Thank God we have achieved Mesa de Diálogo in the Dominican Republic, for peace and prosperity,” the president posted on Twitter.
Maduro also thanked the Dominican Republic’s President Danilo Medina, and former Spanish President José Rodríguez Zapatero, for their roles in making the dialogue possible.
Maduro also acknowledged the attending representatives of opposition coalition Mesa Unidad Democrática (MUD), which joined the talks with the objective of achieving peace and maintaining national stability.
Present during the dialogue were Chilean Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz; for Mexico, Luis Videgaray; on behalf of Bolivia, Fernando Huanacuni, and Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada.
