Venezuelan president calls to consolidate peace among nations

Caracas, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday called to consolidate peace, cooperation and respect among countries on the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.

On his Twitter account, Maduro noted the need to strengthen multilateralism as the only solution to humankind’s problems, amid the scourge of the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Friday, Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza ratified the Venezuelan State’s support and respect for the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, and urged the governments that do not do so to adopt the spirit of that document.

The United Nations Day marks the anniversary of the coming into force of the UN Charter, which was signed on June 26, 1945, in San Francisco, the United States.
