Venezuelan courts incarcerate a group of terrorists

Caracas, May 10th (Prensa Latina) Two Venezuelan courts on terrorism issued a measure of incarceration against a group of mercenaries involved in the failed raid on May 3rd, as reported by the press.

US citizens Luke Denman and Airan Berry were sanctioned for terrorism, illegal arms trafficking, and association.

Both mercenaries belong to the Silvercorp USA private security company, the same that signed a contract with a sector of the Venezuelan far right to set the terms of the action that was aimed at perpetrating the assassination of Maduro and coup d’état.

For their part, the Venezuelans apprehended for their participation in the terrorist aggression were imprisoned for treason, rebellion, and conspiracy with a foreign government.

The court designated the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service headquarters and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence as the place of detention for the citizens.

The decisions were made after the events of last May 3rd on the coasts of the state of La Guaira, when irregular groups trained in Colombia and financed by US personnel, in coordination with sectors of the Venezuelan far right, attempted to generate chaos.

Another mercenary involved in the frustrated terrorist incursion was arrested on Friday night at the department of Carayaca, west of La Guaira, according to information offered by the Strategic Region of Integral Defense via Twitter.
