Caracas, Aug 12 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan artists and creators join this Monday the global campaign against U.S. coercive measures.
At the Plaza de los Museos in Caracas, actress Dilia Guaicaran, actor Antonio Machuca, ballet teacher Sandra Rodriguez and singer Lilia Vera expressed their rejection of the executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump, approving the blockade of Venezuela’s assets.
Minister of Culture, Ernesto Villegas, and other representatives of this sector also participated in the event, supporting the artists’ declaration.
The statement notes that ‘The people of El Libertador Simon Bolivar, once again face an empire, this time the U.S., which through a decree of Emperor Trump economically blocks the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and under financial and commercial subterfuge plunders and steals Venezuelan assets and goods abroad.’
The text also rejects the right wing position that celebrated the application of these measures, and points out that ‘national and international lackeys praise this crime because sovereignty and independence are foreign words to their vocabulary.’
Representatives of the scientific sector also joined the massive demonstration and declared their support for the government of President Nicolas Maduro.
