Venezuela to hold World Meeting of Social Movements

Caracas, Mar 11(Prensa Latina) Venezuela is preparing for the World Meeting of Social Movements and Political Parties to be held in the country next April, announced the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello.

This event will be held from April 17 to 19 with the aim of informing the world of the situation the nation is going through in the face of the imposition of coercive, unilateral and arbitrary measures applied by the United States against the people, Cabello said in statements last night to the press.

It will also be a space for denouncing the destabilizing actions of the right-wing that justify an armed aggression against the country, he stressed.

Cabello highlighted that this meeting will allow to mobilize progressive forces in support of the denunciation recently presented against Washington in The Hague.

We are going to continue consolidating the articulation of the peoples around the world to continue confronting imperialism,’ he stressed and recalled that this meeting is in addition to those held during 2019.

On February 13, the Venezuelan government filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate the crimes committed by the White House as a result of the implementation of the blockade.

The complaint presented by Venezuela before the Prosecutor’s Office of the ICC points out that the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government since 2014 constitute a crime against humanity, provided for in Article 7 of the Rome Statute.
