Caracas, Jan 13 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has reaffirmed on Sunday his Government is endeavoring to fully fulfill the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations.
The Head of State wrote in Twitter that the UN program provides ‘a guideline to lift humanity to a higher stage of economic development, stability and happiness’.
At a meeting on Saturday with UN representatives, Maduro stressed the Government’s 2019-2025 Plan for the Homeland that will be presented to the National Constituent Assembly on Monday includes all the goals of the 2030 Agenda.
He further said that in the Agenda’s 17 historical goals, Venezuela has advanced in some, in others it is stagnant and is lagging behind in several.
The President pointed out Venezuela has social programs that forge ahead free, quality, public education, adding that thanks to State funding there 7,644,869 students studying nationwide.
He further said another of the Government’s social priority is to wipe out poverty and achieve zero hunger through a local supplying system providing foodstuffs at affordable prices.
Maduro said Venezuela closed 2018 with 6 percent unemployment, the same as in 2017, and he’s proposing the Constituent Assembly a plan to bring down that figure and finish 2019 with almost full employment.
