Caracas, Aug 20 (Prensa Latina) The US government appealed on Thursday to the Covid-19 pandemic as a pretext to escalate the policy of aggression against Venezuela, assured the country’s ambassador to the UN, Samuel Moncada.
‘Donald Trump and his henchmen use the pandemic as a weapon of extermination along with strangling the economy. It is a genocidal experiment that our nation had never faced before, and demands maximum discipline and awareness from us to save our people,’ Moncada tweeted.
In this sense, the diplomat denounced that the Center for International Strategic Studies (CSIS) uses the coronavirus as an excuse for the new military attack.
‘According to them in a first phase, Venezuela would be overwhelmed by infections and desperate Venezuelans would collapse the healthcare services of Colombia and Brazil,’ noted the diplomat, recalling the role of CSIS as one of Washington’s most active propaganda entities in the campaign for invading Venezuela.
In a second stage of the interventionist strategy, the governments of Colombia and Brazil, ‘desperate for the pandemic threat from Venezuela, would request the intervention of international organizations without obtaining a response,’ the official warned.
He added that the attacks by neighbors against Venezuela would occur before the US presidential elections, while the aggression is presented as an act of ‘self-preservation’ or ‘legitimate defense’ against the Venezuelan threat.
