Havana, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca has asserted that the United States will fail in its perverse attempt to denigrate the Caribbean island’s international medical cooperation.

He recalled on his Twitter account that the results of the work of Cuban doctors are recognized by the UN, the World Health Organization and the governments receiving that collaboration.

But, he added on the social network, they are recognized ‘especially by the grateful people.’

Cuba denounced yesterday the recent aggression by Washington which, through a program of the United States Agency for International Development, allocates millions of dollars to ‘hinder, discredit and sabotage’ the medical cooperation of the Caribbean island, recognized worldwide.

A statement issued by the Cuban Foreign Ministry condemns that the new aggression is added to the ‘pressures exerted against several governments to hinder Cuban cooperation.’

It adds that this forms part of previous efforts with the same purpose, such as the special parole program aimed at the theft of human resources trained in Cuba.

The Cuban authorities described as ‘immoral slander’ with no foundation the United States allegations that the country engages in human trafficking or the practice of slavery, as well as claims to denigrate the work of health professionals and technicians in several countries.
