Havana, Feb 15 (Prensa Latina) The International Book Fair of Havana (FIL) heard today voices against the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba through the presentation of several books on this relevant political issue.
Cuban deputy minister of Culture Fernando Rojas provided details on the new books that will be offered to readers with updated information about the blockade and its consequences for Cuba.
The Faculty of History and Philosophy of the University of Havana (UH) will host tomorrow the launch of the book ‘Fidel Castro Ruz. La crisis de America Latina, diagnosticos y soluciones’, by Luis Suarez. The books ‘El espectaculo electoral mas costoso del mundo’, by Ramon Sanchez-Parodi will be also launched tomorrow at the Faculty of Communicaction, while ‘El sistema financiero de los Estados Unidos’, by Francisco Soberon, will be launched at the theater of the Faculty of Economy.
The Higher Institute of Arts will also host tomorrow the launch of the book ‘Cuba y los cubanoamericanos. El fenomeno migratorio cubano’, by Jesus Arboleya.
On February 17th, the book ‘Lo que yace a traves del mar. La verdadera historia de los Cinco cubanos’ by Canadian writer Stephen Kimber will be launched at the Salon de Mayo hall in the Pabellon Cuba cultural center.
Meanwhile, the main venue of the event Fortaleza San Carlos de La Cabaña will host the activity ‘Mi papalote contra el bloqueo’, scheduled for children and their families.
