Dubai, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina) Authorities from Dubai, one of the members of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have expressed interest in Cuba’s medical collaboration, the Spanish-language newspaper El Correo del Golfo reported on its website on Wednesday.
A communiqué from the Government of that emirate noted that the general director of the Health Authority of Dubai, Humaid al Qutami, met with a delegation headed by Cuban Ambassador to the UAE Roberto Blanco Dominguez.
The two parties explored the possibility of developing bilateral collaboration, the document adds.
The two officials reviewed the possibility of employing Cuban professionals (physicians and nurses) in health facilities in Dubai.
Al Qutami expressed interest in exchanging experiences with great medical institutions from all over the world after the transformations made in the emirate.
According to El Correo del Golfo, the Cuban ambassador noted that any association with Dubai will be a major opportunity to achieve common objectives.
The United Arab Emirates and Cuba established diplomatic relations in 2002, but it was not until 2015 that the Arab country opened its embassy in Havana, while Cuba opened its diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi in 2018.
