Topes de Collantes is a Nature Reserve park situated in the Guamuhaya mountain range. It covers a surface of more than 20,000 hectares, through the provinces of Villa Clara, Cienfuegos and Santi Spíritus, and with elevations that range between 250 and 900 meters from sea level. This is where the Topes de Collantes Tourist center is located.
This protected area stands out for the richness and exclusivity of its biodiversity and possesses an attractive landscape shaped by exuberant forests. This impressive mountainous ecosystem has imposing elevations, wide valleys, countless endemic flora and fauna, as well as transparent rivers and creeks that form picturesque falls and natural wells.
It is a spectacular setting for cave tourism, bird watching, camping, horseback-riding, hiking, and more.
Five nature reserves exist here: Altiplano, El Cubano, Guanayara, Codina and El Nicho. Thanks to its climatic conditions and healthy ambiance, there is a National Center for Health Rehabilitation in Topes de Collantes. It is located at the Kurhotel Escambray, a 4-star establishment for long stays, with rehabilitation and revitalization services, several health programs and accommodations and gastronomy catered to the type of treatment.
Among the most popular is the weight-loss program for people between 15 and 60 years of age, with no physical limitations or illnesses that might limit the exercise plan.
