Guantanamo, Cuba, Feb 19 (Prensa Latina) Sovereignty and National Security in Cuba and Latin America will focus debates of the 25th National Workshop on Military and Internationalist Patriotic Education starting on Tuesday.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MES), will be held until February 21 and will be hosted by the University of Guantanamo (UG).
The situation in Latin A merica and especially the threat to the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, will be one of the issues that will focus the meeting debates.
Roberto Sierra, member of the Organizing Committee, told Prensa Latina that this meeting is important in the current context, because it will allow us to draw up guidelines to strengthen the military patriotic education of our university students.
Sierra, who is also chief of the Department of Military Education of the UG, stated that it will also be dedicated to several important historical dates of the country and highlight the life and work of Fidel Castro, he said.
Issues related to new technologies in terms of the development and improvement of the subject of Preparation for Defense in Cuban universities, Military Patriotic and Internationalist Education and the training of values in higher education, among others, will also be discussed.
The workshop is attended by universities throughout the country and representation of cadets from Angola and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who will present their experiences on issues under discussion, Sierra said.
