Havana, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) The trophy conquered by the Cuba Domadores in the 6th World Series of Boxing came to the Cuban capital Monday, in the hands of the Cuban boxers, the main architects of this victory.
The members of the Cuban boxing franchise arrived in Havana shortly in a flight by AEROFLOT, bringing the trophy and the title reached last weekend when they beat the Great Britain’s Lion Hearted team 9-1.
Headed by their captain, the three-time world champion Lázaro Álvarez, and the whole technical group, the Doamdores were received by the president of the Cuban Institute of Sports,Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) Antonio Becali, who congratulated them for the result.
“This has been a consequence of the shape in which they are after they have been prepared, with a high conscience and big sacrifice,” Becali pointed out.
Nevertheless, Becali exhorted them that they can not entrust themselves, since this is a target fulfilled facing the fundamental competition of the year, which there are the Olympic Games of Rio of Janeiro.
For his part, Álvarez admitted that he, just like the rest of his partners, came very well to the discussion of the trophy, which they reconquered after transferring it in the 2015 event.
“We feel very satisfied with this title, we wanted to dedicate it to the 90th birthday of Fidel Castro, and we will go for more victories,” he said.
