Havana, Jul 25 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus is ready to carry out tomorrow the main event for the 63rd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons, local media confirmed today.
According to Granma newspaper, the commemoration for the Day of National Rebellion will take place at 7:00 local time on Tuesday, July 26, at the Major General Serafin Sanchez Valdivia Revolution Square.
Jose Ramon Machado, second secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) Central Committee, will pronounce the central speech for the activity. The act will be broadcast live on radio and television.
Flags of Cuba and the July 26 Movement are flying on both sides of the vast esplanade located in front of the headquarters of the PCC Provincial Committee. Leaders of the Party and the Cuban State will attend this event.
According to Escambray newspaper in Sancti Spiritus, Machado stressed on a tour of the territory that economically the province has areas with a large potential for further development and urged to exploit those alternatives at a time when production, savings and efficiency are required.
For his part, First Vice President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, visited culture, commerce, food service and tourism facilities, which underwent intensive construction processes in recent months.
The 25th edition of the Juan Rius Rivera Solidarity Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba from Puerto Rico, an American group led by activist Gloria La Riva, and a representation of the 27th Pastors for Peace Caravan, will participate in the July 26 celebration, it was reported here.
About 100 artists will stage a cultural gala tonight in areas of the Serafin Sanchez Park to delve into the traditions and patriotic values of Sancti Spiritus, and the role of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
