Salvadoran legislator defends Cuba’s solidarity

San Salvador, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) Salvadoran legislator Karina Sosa highlighted Cuba’s solidarity, regarding an campaign promoted from the United States against the health professionals from the Caribbean island.

‘Before the world, Cuba’s cooperation has proven to be unconditional, friendly and respectful of the sovereignty of the countries,’ said Sosa, a member of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN).

Sosa, who is also a former candidate for the vice presidency of the Republic from the FMLN, ratified her solidarity with Cuba, and noted the island’s solidarity projection to contribute to the global fight against the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Salvadoran media also echoed a statement by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) against Washington’s political manipulation of terrorism.

El Independiente newspaper, as well as the Voces and Canal 114 websites, reviewed Cuba’s protest against its inclusion in a list of countries that do not fully cooperate with the US in the fight against terrorism.

‘As a country that has been a victim of terrorism, Cuba deplores any expression of political manipulation and opportunism when dealing with such a sensitive matter,’ concludes the MINREX press release, which was endorsed by several left-wing leaders worldwide.
