Matanzas, Cuba, May 12 (Prensa Latina) Artworks by contemporary Russian painters who took the links between their nation and Cuba as inspiration make up the exhibition ”Sisters” that the Esteban Chartrand Gallery is hosting in this western Cuban city.
Sponsored by the international project Russian Art Park (RAP), the exhibition is open to the public in that hall of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in Matanzas province, 100 kilometers east of Havana.
The editor and journalist Norge Céspedes told Prensa Latina that more than a dozen avant-garde artists from Russia are presenting their canvases in this exhibition.
‘From diverse techniques and concepts, the works approach culture, religion and other subjects from which they build bridges between their country and Cuba,’ he said.
Among the creators who are exhibiting their artworks are Ivan Kovalevsky, Svetlana Lipen, Svetlana Boyarkina, Adelya Zyabbarova, Tatiana Serebryskova, Stella Labuzhskaya and Elena Soroka, said the specialist.
The list also includes Ivan Yagodkin, Anasatasia Ablogina, Aleksandra Shatokhina, Svetlana Elf, Valery Videtsk and Kiril Arkadyev.
