Russian leader highlights Cuba’s resistance to U.S. blockade

Havana, Nov 27 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Just Russia Party, Serguei Mironov, highlighted the Cuban resistance to the economic blockade during a meeting with vice-president of the Cuban parliament, Ana Maria Mari Machado, legislative sources reported this Wednesday.

In a meeting at the National Capitol, the party leader said that the example of Cuba gives strength and hope to fight for the rights of peace and justice, reported the website of the National Assembly.

He expressed in the name of his nation the respect and solidarity towards the Cuban people, especially the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.

For her part, the vice-president of the Council of State addressed the challenges to increase cooperation in sectors such as transport and tourism and highlighted the presence of Russia in the restoration of the statue of the Republic and in the dome of the National Capitol, a building that is currently the institutional headquarters of the legislative organization.

As part of his visit to Cuba, Mironov also spoke days before with the second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura.
