Review of Trinidad de Cuba

trinidad-de-cuba3N8XYID4“Worthwhile visit”

We stopped here on a journey from Cato Santa Maria to Sancti Spiritus. We greatly enjoyed walking round the town but found it a bit difficult to get up the tower at the Palace Cantero Museum due to tourist numbers but we got there in the end.

The whole town is a UNESCO site and rightly so. Our trip was fairly short but we met a young couple who were staying in Trinidad and had thoroughly enjoyed it I wish we could have had longer. The place shows all the charm both in architecture and the people that we came to see all over Cuba. At least a day here would be better than our short visit.

“Worthy of its World Heritage status”

Walking through the cobbled streets of Trinidad is like stepping into the 16th century, complete with the sounds of horses hooves. The usual Cuban mixture of the restored and decrepit, authentic homes and tourist traps, churches and shady squares. It’s worth spending a couple of days rather than just passing through.

“The jewel that is Trinidad”

Trinidad is so pretty and colorful and a must see in Cuba. The cobbled streets, plazas, casas where to eat and even some souvenirs to buy. We spent two days here, simply walking around, exploring this little city. Do not forget to try food at some of the casas and to go to the Casa de la Musica at night for some salsa music.
