Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, Aug 26 (Prensa Latina) After the passage of Tropical Storm Laura through the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus, recovery as of the effects caused by this meteorological phenomenon is making progress on Wednesday.
The Provincial Defense Council has adopted several actions at this stage and pays special attention to southern Sancti Spiritus towns, mainly Trinidad.
A report, to which the press had access, reveals that 56.1% of the Sancti Spiritus population was affected with the electrical service, while 95% of those in which the electric circuits was damaged already received it.
Some 3,790 people sheltered in family homes and protection centers returned to their homes.
The country is also working on the collection of solid waste and debris and local solutions are applied in all municipalities to heal mostly partial roof damages to homes, and state and social centers.
The health system, for its part, reactivated the epidemiological surveillance through the investigation, as a prevention and control measure of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19.
