Mexico, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) Over 130 thousand Mexican tourists visited Cuba during the past 2016, a record number, the Ambassador Pedro Núñez Mosquera stated today at the presentation of Cuban tourist offers for visitors.
The Cuban diplomat to Mexico, mentioned that the 30 percent of Mexicans arriving in Cuba was aimed at participating in different cultural, educational, sports events, among others.
There are more than 300 congresses, forums, festivals, seminars, among other modalities, in which Cuba will host throughout 2017, stated Xiomara Martinez, head of the tourist office for the Cuban embassy.
He emphasized that his country received about four million visitors in 2016, with a 24.5 percent growth over the previous year.
In addition to its natural advantages, history, climate, safety and other advantages, Cuba boast 10 international airports, more than 65 thousand rooms and 17 400 hostels, plus a great deal of restaurants (well-known as paladares).
